WORKING AT HEIGHTS (ONTARIO)

COURSE DETAILS

Duration: 6.5 hours
Cost: $149 + HST

This course provides workers with basic fall prevention information and hazard awareness through interactive learning and hands-on experience. As a CPO-approved provider of the program, IRESCUE TRAINING delivers this course in-house or onsite at your location!

Meets the requirements of Regulation 297/13 and the new Working at Heights Training Standard.

Participation Requirements:

Participants must bring a piece of government-issued photo ID. CSA-approved head, foot, and eye protection required on job sites only.

Completion Requirements:

100% attendance, 100% score on practical skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on written knowledge evaluation.

For participants with language, literacy, or accommodation needs, alternative evaluation methods to the written test may be used to verify that core concepts have been grasped. Please inform us of any special needs when registering.

Certification:

3-year certification in Working at Heights (CPO Approved)

Recertification:

Refresher / Practical skills demonstration

Course Content:

BASIC THEORY

  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Identification of the Hazards
  • Eliminating or Controlling the Hazards
  • Warning Methods and Physical Barriers
  • Ladders and Similar Equipment
  • Personal Fall Protection Equipment

PRACTICAL

  • Hands-on demonstration of specific critical tasks (100% score required)

Program manual, Certification card

Site-Specific Considerations:

While Working at Heights is required training on construction sites, site-specific training is also required. The employer is responsible for site-specific training related to specific hazards and types of equipment used on the job.
